I am one of those guys whom you don’t see in the main stream life. As a Chartered Accountant, I am forging ahead to explore the world of Finance. I just don’t know how the word computer crept into my world. But still I am supposed to be a person cut above the rest in the field of computers. I have a fascination towards the development of Tamil over the internet and hope that people work for its growth on the World Wide Web. I love everything that is Tech Savvy and love to try out everything new. A brief technicality about me is a follows:
Primary and Secondary:
I did my studies till my 10th standard in Carmel Garden Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Coimbatore. Carmel is an institution known for rigorous standards in education in Coimbatore. My days at Carmel are wonderful memoirs in my life. I feel proud to say that I have lived 12 years of my academic life in this esteemed institution. I am greatly indebted to all my wonderful teachers at Carmel. Without their guidance and moulding, I would not have been what I am today. I passed out of Carmel securing 82% in my 10th standard Public Examinations.
I further did my higher secondary education in Bharathi Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Coimbatore. I had to switch over to Bharathi from Carmel just because at Carmel they did not have commerce group in the higher secondary division. The switch over was almost a compulsion in order to become a CA. But then I had missed to understand that those glorious 2 years in Bharathi had made me forget my 12 years in Carmel. Bharathi gave me a whole new perspective to what education is all about. I got into touch with some brainy guys who proved that you need not be so much studious to get good marks. They made me understand that you can excel in studies even with a lot of fun. But I did not implement this in my life then. I passed out of Bharathi with 92.5% in my +2 Public Examinations with a centum in Accountancy.
I did my Bachelor of Commerce Degree in University of Madras through correspondence media. This was just to have a degree behind my name. In many ways this did not any value to me or my knowledge. The manner in which the University of Madras and its Institute of Distance Education conduct their affairs is just disgusting. My paramount goal being CA, the B.Com course was nothing more than a time pass.
Just after completing my +2 examinations in April 2007, I started preparing for CA-CPT (Common Proficiency Test). In May 2007, I appeared for my CPT and passed out with distinction with 74.5%. I got the second rank in CPT in Coimbatore next only to my dear friend P.Aravind Thangam. Before even getting the exam results of CPT me and Aravind went to Chennai for attending coaching classes of Professional Competence Course (PCC), the second level of CA course. Even today, we ponder where from we got such courage to start preparing for PCC even before getting CPT results. After coming back from Chennai, I registered for three and a half years articled training with CA. P.Paul Thangam
, Chartered Accountant. In November 2009, I cleared my PCC exams. This would not have been possible without the able support of my parents, my principal and my friend Aravind. I presented a paper on Inflation adjustment at the National Convention of CA Students – Kolkata and won the Best Paper Presenter
award. I cleared the CA Final Exams in May 2011 in first attempt.
I am a Philatelist by hobby. I have loads and loads of Philatelic materials. I have participated in various Philatelic Exhibitions and won all of them. Some of then being gold medal in KOVAIPEX and silver medal in SIPAPEX. My inspiration for Philately has always been my maths teacher from Carmel Mr. Francis Xavier.
